repair - Seeks parts for antique wood venetian blinds - Home Improvement Stack Exchange


we have 60 year old wood venetian blinds we're in process of replacing ladder tape on (that easy find). 1 of our blinds missing small wooden roller , we're @ loss find one.

it's approximately 1/2" long, 5/16" wide, , has 3/8" hole. i'm attaching pictures. while i'd prefer wood, i'm ok other materials never seen. enter image description here enter image description here

a quick google search produced more modern styles.

i know route might more expensive - seems such simple part make. cabinet shop or furniture repair can that.

if myself out lathe - buy wooden dowel rod big box hardware. cut down 3 inches. drill out center, , countersink center. use sand paper , file shape own matching roller. stain , done it.

tedious yes sure - have roller.

if have small drill press better - because put dowel in drill press , use dremel tool cut , sand have need , make lickity split. should done in 30 minutes or so..
